Our Story
Cinna
FounderIn 2015, I answered an ad on KSL looking for a dog. I knew absolutely nothing about training, but the moment I met Cinna, I knew he was coming home with me.
The first clue that life was about to change came from his breeder. She didn’t even want to be there when I picked him up. Cinna had become infamous for breaking every dog out of their pens, and together they’d tear through the house while she was left replacing carpet.
I thought I was bringing home the dog I’d always wanted.
Instead, I brought home the dog I needed.
Cinna forced me to grow. My routines changed. I became more active. I learned what it meant to be responsible for another life. But I still had one major problem… I had absolutely no idea how to train him.
No one wanted to babysit him. I couldn’t afford daycare. I couldn’t bring him to work.
So I made a decision that would shape the rest of my life.
I quit my job, searched “Best dog training facility in Utah,” walked through the front door, and asked for a minimum-wage kennel technician position. I wasn’t there for the paycheck. I wanted someone to teach me how to train my dog.
That decision became my career.
Over the years, Cinna and I learned together. He became exceptionally well-trained, eventually performing service dog tasks and accompanying me on difficult days.
But don’t let that fool you.
Cinna never stopped being Cinna.
He was brilliant, mischievous, endlessly creative, and always looking for the next loophole. If he escaped the yard, he’d glance back as if to say, “Don’t worry. I’ll have my people call your people.”
The photo on the right is one of his many “mug shots” after another adventure.
In 2021, Cinna passed away after one final midnight escape.
He left behind far more than memories.
He gave me a profession, a purpose, a philosophy, and a pack.
Every dog we’ve helped, every owner we’ve educated, and every life that’s been changed traces back to one unforgettable Siberian Husky who refused to make life easy.
Cinna wasn’t the perfect dog.
He was the dog that made everything else possible.

Silas Torres
My career began with one impossible dog.
When my Siberian Husky, Cinna, came into my life, I quickly realized that love alone wasn’t enough. Determined to give him the life he deserved, I quit my job as Program Manager at a non-profit working with adults with autism and started over as a kennel technician so I could learn from professional trainers. That decision became a career dedicated to understanding behavior.
For over a decade, I’ve worked with dogs struggling with severe aggression, anxiety, trauma, and complex behavioral challenges. My approach combines behavioral science with real-world experience, helping owners understand why their dogs behave the way they do instead of simply correcting unwanted behaviors.
Whether working one-on-one or leading structured pack walks, my goal is always the same: to build relationships founded on trust, communication, and mutual understanding. I believe lasting change happens when we stop asking, “How do I control my dog?” and start asking, “How do I understand them?”
Every dog deserves to be understood. Every owner deserves the knowledge to help them succeed.
